Fairbank Partners are working with a Reinsurer to find a Financial Reporting Actuary for an initial 6 months.  

We are seeking a qualified Actuary to provide support to the Corporate Actuarial team. The team is responsible for a number of core deliverables (grouped under Projects and Systems, Financial Reporting, Governance) and you will provide high level technical and managerial support to the actuarial team in the With-Profits area to meet the demands of the department.

The role this will include being seen as a technical subject matter expert in the With-Profits area of the Financial Management Division.

 

The detail below provides an overview of what the key responsibilities may be depending on team

Projects and Systems

  • Assisting with delivery of change through projects to support business or regulatory change. This might include reporting changes (IFRS17, Internal Model) or business changes (acquisition integration).
  • Liaise with the financial reporting teams on project delivery throughout the cycle of development.
  • Maintenance and improvement of existing systems and processes.
  • Leading projects or project meetings.

Financial Reporting

Financial reporting may include production of results as well as analysis of results. Tasks might include:

  • Producing and reviewing the quarterly reporting production process ensuring data is complete, accurate and appropriate with checks appropriately documented.
  • Ensuring assumptions provided from the Reporting Analysis team are implemented appropriately.
  • Ensuring RAFM (financial modelling software) projections on all reporting bases for one of their With-Profits funds are produced and reviewed in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Producing / reviewing manually calculated reserves where these are done outside of RAFM.
  • Producing analyses of results for different metrics and reconciliations between the different reporting bases.
  • Monitoring that the valuation production process is compliant with internal and Group governance requirements and to document compliance.

Other

  • Manage a With-Profits reporting team.
