Data Science Manager (Insurance)

A leading general insurer is looking to make a key hire into their Data Science Team. This role will involve the management of a team of Data Scientists and will be instrumental in delivering value-adding data science related projects for the business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and thought leadership in the utilisation of advanced statistical techniques including machine learning and predictive analytics. These solutions will be applied business wide and support a variety of functions though with a key focus on pricing, marketing and counter fraud. The role will provide an excellent platform to deliver considerable commercial impact to the business and the remit not only in regards to designing solutions, but also taking projects through to full implementation is considerable. You'll act as the gatekeeper in regards to identifying the potential value of these projects and directing resource accordingly.

In regards to technical skill-set, you should be highly experienced in the delivery of data science solutions and evidence in-depth knowledge of a range of coding languages and development environments such as R, Python, SQL, SAS, VBA, PyCharm, RStudio, Eclipse and similar.

This is the ideal role for somebody looking to step into a management role and have real oversight/control over the delivery of projects and the ongoing development of a business.
