Job Details
The Government Actuary's Department (GAD) is a non-Ministerial Department that provides actuarial advice to governments and organisations in the public sector in the UK and around the world. Our mission is to support effective decision-making and robust reporting within Government as the first choice provider of actuarial and specialist analysis, advice and assurance.
GAD consultants regularly work in a more diverse range of areas than a typical actuarial consultancy, working closely with both policy makers and operational staff to deliver effective public policy. We contribute to policy matters of national importance and therefore confident communication skills are required as you interact with senior civil servants.
We are looking to fill a number of actuary roles across the teams:
• Public Sector Pension Scheme (PSPS) / Specialist Actuarial (SA)
• Actuarial Services Team (AST)
• Insurance & Investment (I&I)
We expect to appoint candidates at entry level of the relevant band however, exceptional candidates will be considered for an offer at a higher salary rate. Please refer to individual pay band range.
To be considered for the role, you must be a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. Please refer to the job description and person specification for more information about the roles.
Application deadline: 23:55 on 17 November 2019
Shortlisting: Week commencing 18 November 2019
Interviews: TBC
Interview location: Chancery Lane, London
Please send your completed application form to recruitment@gad.gov.uk.
You are welcome to apply for one or more teams however, please clearly indicate which team(s) you are applying for. Ensure that you reference the relevant job description and the required criteria before submitting your application.
Only one application form is required.
Please DO NOT email your CV as shortlisting will be carried out based on information provided in your application form only.
