Interim IM MAIS Actuary

Fairbank Partners are currently working with a reinsurer in the Midlands to look for an Actuarial contractor to join them for an initial 6 months. 

The purpose of the role is to support the internal model development of the matching adjustment in stress (MAIS) methodology.

Join the Internal Model Projects team to deliver the following:

• Provide input to the development of the MAIS methodology, suggest alternative approaches and identify strengths / limitations
• Perform data analysis and data quality assessments to support expert judgements for modelling of stressed fundamental spreads
• Carry out sensitivity runs required for expert judgement process
• Investigate the nature and extent of basis risk in calculation of fundamental spreads
• Develop tools and models to automate calculation of matching adjustment in stress
• Provide assessment of the impact of reinsurer default on the matching adjustment
• Provide support with drafting responses to PRA feedback

Produce high quality documentation and deliver presentations to key stakeholders to meet internal model governance requirements including updates to the methodology document
