Head of Reserving

Our client, a leading and globally recognised Lloyd`s syndicate is looking for someone to take up this leadership position and become their Head of Reserving. This is an incredible opportunity for a qualified actuary who has strong experience within the London Market or Specialist Lines within a reserving team to step up and take their career to the next level.

 

Key responsibilities:

- Ensure the internal reserving review is completed to a high level
- Manage members of the reserving team working as a mentor for the juniors and coaching the seniors to help them advance
- Interact closely with the capital team to regulate capital assessments and feed into model development and use
- Operate the team effectively by supporting reports in other departments across the company
- Be a technical expert and advisory for the reserving team
- Be commercially minded with strong industry understanding, considering new initiatives and being aware of any changes with regulatory requirements

Desirable attributes but not a prerequisite:

- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
- Strong ability to analyse problems and develop structured solutions  
- FIA qualified
- Reserving expert, Lloyd`s market desirable  
- Experienced user of MS Excel, VBA and Access/SQL skills desirable
