Job Details
Your team will provide advice covering a myriad of areas such as economic capital, solvency, risk management, company restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, financial modelling, underwriting, new legislation, and the efficiency of claims or reporting processes.
Responsibilities
You will work as part of a team with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping your clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities may include:
- You will lead the practice by setting strategy, driving the development of new business in the market, and providing technical advice
You will build strong networks within the firm to spot and capitalise on opportunities to get involved in projects that others are leading
You will discuss key issues with our clients to identify potential opportunities
You will be responsible for most of the day to day client communications
You will shape and deliver various projects that exceed the expectations of your clients
You will manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by your team
You will be responsible for the management of engagement financials
You will help to grow and develop your team through hands on training and coaching.

Ger has over 30 years' experience practising as an actuary, underwriter, data scientist and risk consultant in both Irish and international insurance markets. He has worked in life and general, domestic and reinsurance, the company market and consultancy. He operated at all levels over his career, from student life actuary, to underwriting director, to head of the non-life arm of a large Irish Actuarial consultancy. He was also very active in the Irish Society of Actuaries, and among other things, had the honour of serving two terms on Council, as well as chair of the general insurance committee.
As a result, Ger has gained a unique insight into what both employers and actuarial, data scientists and risk professionals are seeking from each other. He has very extensive and trusted contacts both in companies and in the actuarial, data analytics and risk communities.
