At the Government Actuary’s Department (GAD) our mission is to support effective decision-making and robust reporting within government as the first choice provider of actuarial and specialist analysis, advice and assurance.

GAD employs circa 160 staff providing actuarial services to a range of clients in the public sector.  90% of staff are actuaries and GAD has a strong track record of hiring graduates and facilitating their development to become qualified actuaries.

At GAD, we seek to achieve a high standard in all our work. We are accredited under the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries’ Quality Assurance Scheme. Our website describes the standards we apply. You can find out more about us at www.gov.uk/gad
