Nicola DuncanK3, has announced the appointment of Nicola Duncan as Actuarial Consultant, previously working at Willis Towers Watson, and most recently at Mercer for over seven years. Nicola has over a decade of experience working in pensions consultancy across large scale projects since becoming a qualified actuary. The new hire continues the development of K3’s team following the business launch in January.

XPS Pensions Group (XPS)

Rob Evans

XPS Pensions Group (XPS) announces the appointment of Robert Evans as a Principal who joins from Mercer where he was providing strategic advice to trustees. Robert has over 20 years’ experience as an actuary advising trustees and sponsors on a wide range of matters including: integrated risk management, funding negotiations, journey plans and member options.

Guy Carpenter & Company

Guy Carpenter & Company has announced the formation of a new Global Capital Solutions Group resulting in a series of new leadership appointments. 

Global Capital Solutions Group will be lead by David Priebe, Vice Chairman of Guy Carpenter. Ed Hochberg, CEO of North America at JTL Re, will become Head of the Global Capital Solutions practice, advising clients on capital, reinsurance optimisation and risk transfer solutions. Shiv Kumar will continue as President of GC Securities, responsible for the insurance-linked securities and M&A practices. Both Hochberg and Kumar will be reporting to Mr Priebe. 

Keith Harrison will become Head of London North America for GC leading the London division of GC’s North America business, reporting to Tim Gardner. Mr. Harrison will also lead the formation of a new London-based operation to service and source business non-affiliated with Guy Carpenter, which will be overseen by Peter Hearn, President and CEO of Guy Carpenter.

Simon Keeley, currently Head of London North America for GC, and Mark Higgins, currently Head of London North America for JLT Re, will both report to Mr. Harrison and form part of the senior leadership team.

Jeremy Fox will become Chairman of GC Asia Pacific, reporting to Tony Gallagher, CEO of GC Asia Pacific. Mr. Fox will be responsible for servicing multinational clients in the region and producing new business.

Kevin Fisher, currently CEO of GC Global Specialties, will become Chairman of GC UK & Specialties. Mr. Fisher will continue working with the leadership team to deliver enhanced client solutions across the UK and Global Specialties platform.

James Boyce, currently Deputy CEO Global Specialties and Head of Non-Marine Specialties at GC, will become CEO of Global Specialties. Mr. Boyce will report to Peter Hearn and will join the Guy Carpenter Executive Committee.

Bradley Maltese, Deputy CEO of UK & Europe at JLT Re, will become Vice Chairman of Global Specialties, reporting to Mr. Boyce. As well as Richard Morgan, Managing Director, GC Global Specialties, will become Head of Non-Marine Specialties. 

David Flandro, Global Head of Analytics at JLT Re, will become Global Head of Economics and Franchise Risk Advisory, reporting to Rob Bentley, CEO of GC Global Strategic Advisory.

Peter Hearn said “The combination of Guy Carpenter and JLT Re’s capabilities and expertise will create an exciting opportunity to deliver enhanced value to clients across the globe through a structure that is intuitive and aligned with our strategic priorities”.

Barnett Waddingham

Rosie

Barnett Waddingham appoints Rosie Fantom as Bulk Annuity Consultant to its Corporate Consulting team. Rosie previously worked at Scottish Widows as Senior Manager where she was a founding member of their bulk annuity business.

Rosie joins Barnett Waddingham to help drive our bulk annuity services forward, with significant experience in pension scheme de-risking, insurance and regulatory services.

Western Pension Solutions (WPS)

MargaretWestern Pension Solutions (WPS) has announced the appointment of Margaret de Valois as Director to grow the business in the South West and North West of England.

She joined Western Pension Solutions in January 2019 having previously held roles as Head of Pensions at Mazars as well as with Schroders, Deloitte and PwC. 

Her passion is good governance within pension schemes as well as helping companies and their employees understand pensions better.
