This is a fantastic opportunity for Prophet experts to join the team of an international fortune 500 international IT giant. My client is looking for an actuary with a background in life assurance or financial services, and a general knowledge of the financial services industry’s regulatory and reporting frameworks.
The successful candidate should ideally have at substantial experience working in a life assurance department or consultancy. The candidate should be making good progress with the Institute of Actuaries or Society of Actuaries exams (or equivalent). We will also consider candidates with in-depth experience and knowledge in relevant areas.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be involved in all the following aspects of the role. The proportion of time spent on each will depend on the nature of particular projects and the mix of people in the project team.
+ Prophet Enterprise – provide assistance in running client models
+ Assist in pre sales support of Prophet, where required
+ Install – Help clients to install Prophet
+ Build – Help clients to build/develop Prophet models
+ Review – Examine clients’ models and recommend improvements
+ Integrate – Help clients to link Prophet to their administration and reporting systems
+ Manage – Advise clients on managing their Prophet environments
+ Design – Advise clients on model specification and structure, and IT requirements + Migrate - Help clients to migrate the models
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and skills in the following areas:
Prophet:
The candidate will have a strong knowledge of the Prophet system or will have demonstrably equivalent experience, and will have been involved in key business projects using Prophet. The candidate will be familiar with Prophet ALS/Life DFA and knowledge of the Asset and Global libraries. They will also have implemented at least three from: (1) new business processing, (2) calculation looping, (3) rebasing, (4) goal seeking, (5) data grouping, (6) dynamic model point method, (7) in-memory dynamic processing, (8) extended formulas and (9) stochastic modelling
Industry Experience:
You will have a background in life assurance or financial services, and a general knowledge of the financial services industry’s regulatory and reporting frameworks, including an awareness of at least two of the following:
• Realistic Balance Sheets (RBS)
• Individual Capital Assessments (ICA) and Solvency II
• European Embedded Values (EEV) and Market Consistent Embedded Values (MCEV)
• International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Actuarial Experience/Knowledge:
Experience in, and knowledge of, the business implications and impact on Prophet modelling of the following: Profit Testing, Product Design and Pricing, Revenue and Earnings Projections. And at least three of the following:
• Valuation methods, including embedded values and realistic valuations
• Asset / Liability Modelling
• Stochastic Modelling
• Financial Economics and Derivatives
• Analysis of Change
