The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Solvency II Manager to join us and lead the Solvency II Technical Provisions work within QBE European Operations. Reporting directly into the Head of Reserving this is an excellent opportunity to join a high performing team and will give you the opportunity to network and build relationships across the wider business (notably Finance, Group and Claims).   

Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:

  • To support Solvency II requirements through:
    • The estimation of technical provisions and maintenance / development of the Solvency II technical provision models
    • Manage provision of regulatory reporting for Solvency II
    • Working with finance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
    • Providing data and liaising with the capital team to support the internal model
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve customer focus
  • Clearly communicate results, key issues, sensitivities and uncertainties
  • Manage 1 direct report

You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Qualified actuary, preferably with over 5 years post qualified experience
  • Strong technical background in reserving under both UK GAAP and Solvency II
  • Strong focus on executing plans and delivering results
  • London market/general insurance background
  • Effective communication skills
  • Pro-active approach and keenness to take ownership
  • Willingness to collaborate and work in a team
  • Ability to effectively co-ordinate and work across a wide range of teams and departments
  • Strong time management of both own and wider team’s work
