Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a full and active role in best estimate and the company’s reserve setting processes, analyse movements in profitability and produce Reserve Report, maintaining/improving relevant ResQ and spreadsheet models. Assist with the development of new reserving techniques for gross and reinsurance data
  • Produce Solvency II Technical Provisions and associated reports. Analyse and validate Technical provisions to help produce the Actuarial Function report
  • Produce, check and submit information to the company including Pillar III, GRADe, SOLE, patterns database, Marine Profitability analysis and GIT8 amongst others
  • Produce, check and submit information to Lloyd’s including QMB, QMC, QSR and ASR
  • Undertake in-depth reviews of profitability of areas of the business written, obtain feedback and buy-in from underwriters and explain conclusions to management
  • Assist with review of Management Information and construction of new reports
  • Gain familiarity with data warehouse, progressing to being able to extract data for varied purposes using SQL, as well as underwriting, claims and reinsurance systems
  • Progress with the actuarial examinations

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Analyse situations, diagnose problems, identify the key issues, establish and weigh up alternative courses of action and produce a logical, practical and acceptable solution
  • ResQ, SQL and Data warehouse skills
