Main Responsibilities

  • Develop skills in market leading actuarial software packages and techniques for the purposes of asset and liability modelling, monitoring of risk, capital aggregation and financial reporting, and help to design and implement financial modelling solutions
  • Collaborate with consultants to provide support on life insurance-related client projects, including financial reporting, M&A appraisal valuations, corporate restructuring, risk management and capital enhancement initiatives
  • Build strong, supportive relationships internally, both with associates more junior than yourself and with seniors
  • Develop professional expertise by progressing towards qualification as an actuary
  • Contribute to sales and marketing efforts by assisting in the drafting of proposals, presentations and pitches

Skills/Qualifications

  • A minimum of a 2:1 honours degree in any numerate/scientific discipline and successfully studying towards an FIA/FFA qualification
  • A good understanding of life insurance products, regulations and reporting requirements
  • Financial modelling experience (knowledge of Moses, RAFM or Prophet would be advantageous)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Availability to travel on an as needed basis, domestically and internationally
  • Strong communication skills; in particular the ability to communicate complex concepts to a broad range of audiences
