Our client is currently recruiting for two individuals to join their expanding DB Solutions team, which provides on-going services and de-risking solutions, including bulk purchase annuities, to the trustees and sponsoring employers of defined benefit pension schemes in their North Yorkshire, Norfolk or London office.

The role is an exciting and varied one and will involve you in many aspects of the life of a defined benefit pension scheme including:

  • Giving technical actuarial support to the Scheme Actuaries who provide actuarial services to the trustees of the company‚Äôs portfolio of defined benefit schemes
  • Acting as a technical reference point for colleagues across the DB Solutions business on both actuarial and non-actuarial issues
  • Reviewing and signing out company accounting disclosure reports (FRS102/IAS19)
  • Delegating, checking and giving feedback on the work of others
  • Working directly with trustees and sponsoring employers
  • Involvement in DB proposition development
  • Managing a small team of actuarial technicians

Ideally About You

  • Qualified/nearly qualified Actuary
  • Very good knowledge of occupational defined benefit schemes
  • A strong technical knowledge and understanding of actuarial principles, formulae and methodology relevant to DB Pension business
  • Knowledge of customer focussed ways of working, approaches and techniques
  • Experience of relevant IT systems (internal and supplier) e.g. MS Excel, MS Word, Superval
  • Strong understanding of actuarial professional guidance
  • Appropriate CPD
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written
  • Recognising customers and team members as individuals
  • Strong coaching and facilitation skills
  • A positive attitude to change
